I was born on a warm August morning In Rogers City, Michigan with a microphone in my hand. My mother always wanted to be a radio broadcaster, but gave up those career aspirations to be a stay-at-home mom, while my dad worked to pay the bills. While the other kids in Alpena were building snowmen and taking apart small engines, I was watching The Price Is Right and Match Game, figuring out how to become the next Johnny Olson. Radio was always a part of my life, as my mom rarely had it turned off in the house. Fast forward to my junior year at Alpena High School, when I became involved in a Boy Scout Explorer group with an interest in radio, and the rest is history. I got my first paid radio job (at WATZ FM/AM in Alpena) one month after graduating from high school in 1988, and I haven’t stopped since. My almost 20-year career has so far taken me from Alpena to Mt. Pleasant, back to Alpena, and now to Cadillac. I have a wonderful wife, Julie, who understands (tolerates?) the crazy demands on a radio guy’s time, and two amazing kids – Andrew is soon to be 6, and Kalina is 4. We are blessed to have been so welcomed to the Cadillac community since moving here in January of 2007, and look forward to staying awhile.
